We are hosting a general membership meeting to select delegates to represent the Yukon federal NDP at the upcoming federal policy convention of our Party, which will be taking place virtually from April 9-11th of this year. We will also be voting on what policy resolutions our local association will submit to the convention for consideration.
You must be a member of the NDP in good standing at least 30-days in advance of this meeting (January 23th) in order to be a delegate to convention. If you have been a member at any point since November of 2019, you can renew at any point up to and including at the delegate selection meeting. You must be a member in good standing in order to vote at this meeting, and to put forth resolutions for consideration. If you are not currently a member, or unsure of your membership status, you can sign up or renew for free here.
Conventions decide NDP policy and elect the Federal Executive. They are also an opportunity to hear inspiring guest speakers, participate in training to improve our skills as activists, and meet our MPs and colleagues from across the country.
The federal party has posted a quick guide to resolutions here.
